6. Camie Loneozner

Speaking of characters that Jason Fry has re-canonized in his Star Wars books, Camie Loneozner appears as Camie Marstrap in the expanded edition of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. In the novel, Luke Skywalker is having a dream about Camie. In the dream, he never left Tatooine and instead married Camie and remained in the family business alongside Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. Reminiscent of the finale scene in A New Hope, part of the dream sequence includes Luke staring at the horizon and Camie joining him in the waning light of the twin suns.

Camie’s actual first appearance in Star Wars ended up on the cutting room floor. Koo Stark was cast to play Camie in Star Wars: A New Hope and they even filmed scenes with her, Biggs Darklighter, and Luke Skywalker! While she didn’t make the final cut of A New Hope, Camie was included in later media, though her name is often misspelled as “Cammie.” In the Expanded Universe canon, Camie ended up marrying Laze Loneozner after Luke and Biggs left her behind on Tatooine and the couple built illegal podracers to finance their wedding. She also combated rumors that Luke Skywalker was responsible for the Lars’ demise when rumors began to swirl that he had killed them.

While her role in Star Wars is nearly non-existent, Star Wars fans still dress up as Camie at Star Wars Celebration and other cosplay events.
