This week’s episode of The Bad Batch Season 2, “Metamorphosis,” will pick up where last week’s episode left off. The two-episode arc featured Clone Force 99 losing and retrieving their ship — and they learned a little more about the galaxy, and themselves, along the way.

So far this season, every single main character featured on the show has either witnessed or gone through some sort of transformation — some in big ways, and some in much smaller but no less important ways.

Omega has begun to learn that while missions, tactics, and strategy are important, taking the time to breathe in the quiet moments and appreciate living is the most important thing of all.

Tech has become more aware of his own narrow mindset and the different ways he approaches situations that are difficult to process. The more time he spends with Omega, the more he begins to understand that even though he’s a clone, he’s also human — and that’s a hard thing to be in a galaxy that feels it no longer has a use for you.

And then there’s Crosshair — perhaps the most interesting example of a largely unexplored type of character development in Star Wars storytelling. He continuously resists changing. He doubles down on his choices time and again because he genuinely believes he’s doing the right thing, despite others around him coming to believe otherwise.

What sort of metamorphosis will this season’s characters go through this week? We’ll only have to wait a little longer to see.
