Star Wars Jedi Survivor story trailer released
We’re about 6 weeks (at the time of writing) from the much-anticipated release of Star Wars Jedi Survivor, and precious little information about what the game actually is has been released. We know there’s a five-year gap between it and Fallen Order, and we know that a mercenary named Bode Akuna will be joining the cast of characters we’ll be interacting with over the course of the game. But very little else bar that. Until today!
A brand new story trailer has just been released, and it gives us our most complete look at what’s next for the crew of the Stinger Mantis when Jedi Survivor drops next month.
As with everything Star Wars, we’re given a lot to take in, without giving a great deal of context to form the complete picture. We get a bit of a look at Cal working with Bode in combat, which we’ve seen pieces of previously. It was interesting to see the same sort of scenarios play out with Merrin. Feels to me like we’re going to get a number of missions with Cal and a companion.
There’s an interesting mention of the gang finding somewhere worth fighting for, away from the Empire. What does it mean? Where are they talking about? I don’t know! Do they mean for a future Jedi temple, or to cultivate the rebellion? It’s interesting to think about, at least!
Chewie, we’re home
Most importantly, we’re heading back to Coruscant! Having been featured in Andor, The Bad Batch, and The Mandalorian recently, it’s cool to see the Capital of the Galaxy return to prominence after a short hiatus. Given the Emperor literally lives around those parts, however, isn’t that a little risky for Cal and company to be sneaking around? Perhaps we’re getting a quick glance at where we’re going to end the game, ala Fortress Inquisitorius? Who knows? Not me!
We’re not long from finding out what it all means. If you’re a little impatient, however, you can jump back into the Stinger Mantis with Sam Maggs’ Star Wars Jedi Battle Scars. You can check out our review here.
In the meantime, we’re going to go back and watch the trailer a bunch more times to see if there’s any more information we can glean from its two-minute run time (did I just spot someone in High Republic gear?!?).
