Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Mandalorian season three, episode four, “Chapter 20: The Foundling.”

Last week’s episode of The Mandalorian saw Din and Bo-Katan redeemed by the Children of the Watch while Dr. Pershing met a terrifying fate at the hands of a former Imperial colleague who had since joined the New Republic. Let’s find out what happened in this week’s episode, “The Foundling.”

Escape From the Temple

“The Foundling” saw Mando (Pedro Pascal) bring Grogu more fully into The Way as he put Grogu up for combat against another child in a traditional contest.

Later, the Armorer (Emily Swallow) taught Grogu more about their tradition, stating that shaping their armor shapes themselves, which triggered a surprising flashback to his escape from the Jedi Temple during Order 66.

The sequence was thrilling as we’ve previously only seen flashes of Grogu’s past. An unfamiliar Jedi, Kelleran Beq (Ahmed Best), helped Grogu escape, but we didn’t see where they wound up or what happened to Beq. Presumably, we’ll learn more about Grogu’s past throughout the season, a promising turn for the character as he grows more into his own.

Chasing the Mythosaur

After rescuing a Mandalorian child from a raptor, the Armorer took Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff) to repair her armor. Bo confided that she had seen a real Mythosaur after choosing to wear the insignia on her new pauldron.

The episode ended with the ambiguity of their conversation. It seems the Armorer believes Bo’s new, reluctant conversion to The Way led to a religious vision of the Mythosaur.

However, we know along with Bo-Katan that the Mythosaur she saw was very real. What this all means for the remainder of the season, and for the Mandalorians, remains to be seen.
