The finale of the Bad Batch season two is almost here, and it looks like it’s going to be an epic and emotional ride. The series has done a great job of building up the tension ready for the final act, but there are still some questions remaining that need answers, which hopefully the two-episode climax will deliver.

5. Will Cid betray the Batch?

It’s been a while since we saw Cid and the Batch working together. Ever since she left them stranded on their mission to collect Ipsium, their relationship has been strained. It’s clear that their long standing partnership is over, but it seems like an awkward place to leave it after so long together. The last time they spoke, Cid seemed to be threatening them, and don’t forget Grini Millegi’s warning to the Batch at the riot race, when he told them Cid was likely to betray them. Will she be looking for revenge in the finale?

4. The Zillo Beast

An unlikely Clone Wars monster made its return in episode 11 ‘Metamorphosis’, with the Zillo Beast once again wreaking havoc wherever it went. Since that episode, however, we’ve seen nothing of the Malastare monster. The cost and effort of cloning such a large and indestructible beast must have been considerable, and clearly the Empire has a special purpose for it, whether that be weaponizing it, making armor from its scales, or using it in other cloning projects. Whatever its use, there’s more to be shown before the series ends.

3. Rex’s fight

Captain Rex is still very much involved in the fight against the Empire at this point, helping to rescue clones who’ve disobeyed orders, but when we next see him in Rebels, it’s clear he’s been out of the fight for some time. The Empire is working quickly to decommission all clones as soon as possible, so there would be no need to continue with that work, however there are lots of other things Rex could do to help the struggle against the Empire, and it seems unlikely he would simply ignore people in difficulty. Something big must have happened to make him retire on Seelos alongside Wolffe and Gregor.

2. Crosshair’s experiments

Crosshair’s role has expanded over the last few episodes, showing his growing resentment towards the Empire, and now him being used for experiments by Dr. Hemlock. What exactly are these experiments, though? It’s likely they are related to ‘Clone X’, an expert soldier who attempted to assassinate Riyo Chuchi, but this connection hasn’t been confirmed. From comments Hemlock has made, it looks like something he was hoping to carry out on more clones, and possibly other troopers, but their exact purpose is still a mystery.

1. The Bad Batch

A big question that’s been hanging over the series is the future of the Bad Batch, and whether they’ll stay together after the current crisis is over. All of them have talents that work well combined, but could also be used individually. There have been hints throughout the series which point to the Batch going their separate ways, such as Tech and Phee growing closer together and Hunter’s reluctance to settle down, as well as Echo leaving to help Rex. The finale will show whether they split up or stick together to survive, and as always, the Batch will try to do what is best for Omega.
