Warning! Spoilers ahead for Star Wars: The Bad Batch season two, episode fifteen, “The Summit.”

Last week’s episode of The Bad Batch saw the clones receive crucial information about Crosshair that would send them on a dangerous mission. As Clone Troop 99 worked out a plan to save their brother, they fell into a riskier trap than they realized. Read on to find out what happened in “The Summit.”

How the Mighty Have Fallen

The first of an unofficial two-part finale, “The Summit” primarily laid the groundwork for the following episode and the coming season while still offering plenty of exciting tidbits to dive into.

While the episode ended in a literal cliffhanger with the Bad Batch stuck in midair as they attempted to flee the Imperial base after a botched attempt to rescue Crosshair, the most important action of the episode happened in a quiet roundtable.

The eponymous summit of the episode was a meeting with Dr. Hemlock (Jimmi Simpson), Governor Tarkin (Stephen Stanton), Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), and other Imperial officers as they discussed the status of the clone retirement program and cloning technology itself, making it clear these will be ongoing plot threads for season three.

The group also mentioned the status of Project Stardust, better known as the Death Star. There are still nearly twenty years to cover in the Star Wars timeline before the Death Star officially appears.

While The Bad Batch isn’t likely to span that full era, “The Summit” reminds us that the growing power of the Empire will be a threat for Clone Troop 99 in their immediate and future lives as they attempt to find some sense of peace in the galaxy.
