Star Wars celebration began with a bang as a slew of news was released about the future of the franchise. However, the only trailer dropped so far has fans banging the drum because we finally got the trailer for Ashoka!

Firstly, we got our looks at some familiar faces such as Hera and Sabine. The Star Wars Rebels characters will be making their live action in the series. Hera will officially be played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Sabine will be played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo.

The trailer kicked off with a voice over of Rosario Dawson explaining something big is coming followed by an awesome display of her dual wielding lightsabers (a site for sore eyes.) That’s when we get our first look at Bordizzo as Sabine followed by an action sequence of Hera in Phantom dodging canon shots. It had long been rumored that there would be two sith like antagonists which we get our first look at in the trailer in short snippets of lightsaber action. Also confirmed to make an appearance  is Mon Mothma played by Genevieve O’Reilly.

While we don’t get to see Grand Admiral Thrawn up close we are treated to a shot of him walking towards perhaps what could be the bridge to a ship. Ashoka mentions the Heir to the Empire that if legends fans remember is a series of books about Thrawn. One thing that really stands out in this trailer is that Ashoka appears to be using her lightsabers an awful lot (not that I’m complaining.) If the trailer is any indication the show may just be an action packed ride throughout. As the trailer wraps up with an epic orchestra the title card appears and we won’t have to wait long for the show at all. Ashoka is confirmed to be releasing on Disney+ in August! If todays announcements are anything to go by Celebration is sure to rock our galaxy’s.
