Ahsoka will premier in August on Disney+.
Celebration celebrated day 2 with a phenomenal panel featuring the cast of Ahsoka where they announced who will be directing the upcoming show. There are a couple of new faces making their Star Wars debut and some familiar faces.
Of course we have Dave Filoni returning behind the camera this season. The character of Ahsoka is his creation afterall and this is said to be his “baby” so it makes sense he would be in the drivers seat. Returning to universe is Rick Famuyiwa. Rick has directed 4 episodes of The Mandalorian as well as written 2 of them. He has also played the character Jib Dodger in 2 episodes as well.
Peter Ramsey famously known for his work on Into the Spider-Verse will be coming back to direct an episode this season. Peter is responsible for the episode of The Mandalorian titled The Pirate. His other work includes the 2012 film Rise of the Guardians and he’s even been the storyboard artist for films such as The Predator and Mortal Kombat. Next we have Steph Green making her Star Wars return. Steph directed chapter 2 of The Book of Boba Fett. Some of Steph’s other work includes Man in the High Castle, Luke Cage, Watchmen, and Preacher.
Jennifer Getzinger will be making her Star Wars directorial debut with Ahsoka. She’s worked high profile shows such as Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Westworld. Also making her debut into a galaxy far far away will be Geeta Patel. Geeta is known to work on comedies and dramas and has burst onto the scene with an impressive resume. She has worked on shows such as Santa Clarita Diet, The Mindy Project, and HBO’s House of Dragon.
This list of directors is as stacked as the cast for the show and promises to deliver an action packed end to the summer. Ahsoka will arrive on Disney+ in August.
