More reveals from Star Wars Celebration were announced in the Ahsoka panel. We got big character and story details along with the surprise that Lars Mikkelsen will reprise his role as Grand Admiral Thrawn. There was a ton of information, including some familiar faces coming back to score the show.

Long-time Lucasfilm animation composer, Kevin Kiner, is back as the composer for Ahsoka. It was announced in the panel and confirmed by the Kiner Brothers’ Twitter account. Kevin isn’t the only one along for the ride, as his sons, Sean and Dean, will also be part of the series’ music. Sean and Dean have assisted their father with Star Wars music for some time. Sean Kiner was actually the one who wrote Thrawn’s theme for Star Wars Rebels, not Kevin Kiner. They shared in a tweet:

"“We’re creating the score for Ahsoka. We’re beyond privileged and grateful to be able to do this and so lucky! I don’t think you’ll ever know how much Kevin has put into the music for Ahsoka and Star Wars all these years and we’re so happy he finally can.”"

Being Kevin Kiner’s first live-action Star Wars series, it’s fitting that the gig is for the animated characters where he started in the company. No one else truly deserved this role, except maybe John Williams, of course.

Kevin Kiner and his sons have scored multiple animated series from The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, The Bad Batch, and Tales of the Jedi. Kiner has been nominated for multiple Primetime Emmy and Annie Awards for his work in Star Wars animation. Scoring Ahsoka is another big step on their musical resume. Hopefully, next, the Kiners will get to score a live-action Star Wars movie. One can only dream!
