Mando season 3 finale finally allows Din and Grogu’s bond to shine

Din Djarin and Grogu moved into a little cabin on Nevarro in a season finale episode that finally allowed their bond to shine. Star Wars took the unconventional route based on their own track record and let the heroes have a happy ending. It was quite possibly the most picture perfect ending of any Star Wars story until now. We finally witnessed the duo getting a permanent place to live. This has always been something Din has wanted for Grogu. From Season 1, Din has hoped to give Grogu as normal a childhood as possible, and that became a reality at the end of Season 3 when they officially became a family.

Here are some of their sweetest moments together from Chapter 24 of The Mandalorian:

1. Grogu untying Din’s hands: As soon as the episode began, Grogu found his father and saved him. A concerned Grogu pretty much drowned his dad in bacta spray before Din told him that he was fine. Then the little guy, with the help of his IG-12 suit, untied Din’s hands. Din even thanked him from his help and it was adorable!
2. Din and Grogu’s identical knee slides: Just as Din slid across the ground on his knees while firing both his blasters at the Praetorian Guards, Grogu managed to pull off the same move. They are twinning now. How cute!
3. Din asking Grogu to be brave: Din realized that it was time to finish off Moff Gideon who had been a thorn in their sides from the start. He asked Grogu “to be brave” for him so they could finally go after the Moff, and Grogu nodded his head to show his dad that he was ready to help in whatever way possible.
4. Din’s anguish when Praetorian Guards surrounded Grogu: At one point, Din was shot at multiple times and nearly recaptured. Grogu had to take a few steps back as Praetorian Guards turned their attention to him. Din immediately noticed and shouted “No!” in anguish in what was one of the most heart wrenching moments of the season.
5. Din Adopts Grogu: Finally, after 3 seasons of waiting, fans got to see Din officially adopting Grogu.After the Armorer told Din that Grogu couldn’t become an apprentice without his parents’ consent, Din decided to become his parent. Plenty of fans must have shed tears when The Armorer declared that it be “written in song” that Din Djarin had adopted his foundling as a son. Grogu also became an apprentice to Din, and will now be known as “Din Grogu”.
6. Din & Grogu’s Home Sweet Home: Greef Karga handed over Din the keys to his own cabin to live in on Nevarro and then we got see the most domestic and blissful setting ever in a Star Wars story. Din sat on his porch and watched Grogu playing in the sunlight, just as he always wanted. Little Grogu force lifted a frog as his dad watched, and the two formed the picture of complete contentment as they officially became a family.
