Carrie Fisher is finally getting her Walk of Fame star

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a star-studded area with over 2 thousand people and characters alike having a claim to some portion of the walk and that number is going up by one here soon. On May 4th in a long overdue ceremony, the late Carrie Fisher will be joining her Star Wars co-stars as the latest member to have a star on the Walk of Fame. Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford already have one and in what is a long overdue ceremony Carrie Fisher will finally have her moment to shine as well.
Known for her iconic role as the one and only Princess Leia Carrie Fisher will be honored as they will be. placing her star mere feet away from her fictional brother Luke Skywalker aka Mark Hamill and just across the street from her late mother Debbie Reynolds. The long-awaited ceremony will be held Thursday, May 4th at 11:30 a.m. PST. Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd will be in attendance as the one to accept the star on her mother’s behalf. While other speakers have yet to be announced this is sure to be a truly iconic celebration on the day known as “Star Wars Day.”
Of course, while Fisher is most well known for playing Princess Leia she has appeared in many other roles in films such as The Blues Brothers, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back! Scream 3, and more. She has also lent her voice in many of the Star Wars lego adaptations both on screen and in video games. Carrie Fisher is an icon in the pop-culture universe and her final appearance on screen was The Rise of Skywalker as she gave her life for her son Ben Solo.
