After launching a Star Wars collection last year, Homesick is back with two new candles inspired by The Mandalorian. Collaborating with Lucasfilm, Homesick’s new The Bounty and The Rescue candles feature scents inspired by the planets featured in seasons one and two of The Mandalorian.

“When we started thinking about our initial Star Wars collection last year, it just made sense for us to apply our experience creating location-based fragrances to capture the essence of some of the most iconic and beloved planets in the original trilogy,” said Lauren McCord, general manager of Homesick. “Now, with the new fragrances inspired by The Mandalorian, we have this wonderful opportunity to explore a new storytelling avenue by pulling in key characters and moments from the series. Highlighting the story of The Child, or Grogu, felt like the perfect way to bring the themes of the show to life in a way that we know will resonate with Star Wars fans.”

Just like with Homesick’s original trilogy collection, the new candles are as close as you’ll get to experiencing what certain parts of the galaxy smell like. Thanks to the Homesick team, we received samples of the new Mandalorian candle collection to review.

With The Bounty candle, there are top notes of sand, bitter orange petitgrain, and salt. There are also smoky and woody aspects combined with lavender and pine needles. The Rescue candle features scents of sea moss, eucalyptus, foggy air, sheer musk, cedarwood, and more.

Both products are part of Homesick’s Star Wars collection of “scent stories” — The Bounty evokes the forging of the unbreakable bond between Din Djarin and Grogu, and The Rescue chronicles the intense journey seen in season two of The Mandalorian.

McCord said Homesick worked closely with the Star Wars story experts at Lucasfilm to make the scent products as authentic as possible to the “real” thing.

“The collaboration involved multiple rounds of original scent development to ensure each candle told a unique story from The Mandalorian,” she said. “Since these candles depict two journeys, we crafted each fragrance to have distinct notes that tie to different settings within the stories, such as the desert sands and volcanic ash notes in The Bounty that transport you to Nevarro, or the sea moss in The Rescue that makes you feel like you’ve landed on Trask.”

Beyond the scents, the new candles are poured into new colored glass jars for even more immersion into the stories and smells of The Mandalorian. The Bounty features warm gradient colors starting with “soft desert beige of Arvala-7” and building to a bright mauve — a color inspired by the volcanic atmosphere of Nevarro and the sunsets on the swampy planet of Sorgan.

The Rescue has a cool gradient vessel featuring a blue inspired by Trask and “an earthy sage for the desolate planet of Corvus and the mountainous texture of Tython.”

Like the original collection, The Mandalorian candles each come in a box featuring exclusive Star Wars artwork of scenes and locales from which the products take inspiration.

The Bounty’s box shows key moments from the first season of the Disney Plus series, including Din and Grogu’s first meeting, Grogu making friends on Sorgan, and the showdown with Moff Gideon and stormtroopers on Nevarro.

The Rescue’s box features the trio of Mandalorians the duo encounters on Trask (Koska Reeves, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Axe Woves), Grogu connecting with Ahsoka via the Force, and Grogu meditating on Tython.

Homesick collaborated with artist Sofia Ayuso for both the original trilogy and the new Mandalorian collection of scent products.

“Her deep knowledge of the Star Wars universe and ability to capture the essence of our fragrances in her art made for the perfect product packaging,” McCord said. “We’re so excited for our customers to have this new collection in their hands and uncover some fun Easter eggs woven into the artwork.”

Some of those Easter eggs include artwork of the Darksaber, Ahsoka’s white blade lightsabers, and the tiny visages of Boba Fett and Fennec Shand.

Between the artful packaging and the stunning scents, the new Mandalorian collection from Homesick is both a Star Wars collector’s item and an immersive experience transporting your senses to a galaxy far, far away.
