You could soon be the owner of Yoda’s lightsaber, thanks to the latest addition to the Force FX Elite series of Star Wars lightsaber replicas.

Hasbro announced this week that Yoda’s lightsaber would be the next addition to the Black Series Force FX Elite series, which includes sabers that belonged to Leia, Rey, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and others.

This saber, while smaller to reflect the size of Yoda’s weapon on screen, is a fierce, beautiful collectible honoring the master that called it his own for so many years. We most recently saw this very saber in The Book of Boba Fett when Luke Skywalker presented it to Grogu as he allowed him to choose whether to train as a Jedi or return to life among the Mandalorians. This explains why this saber was released as part of Mando Mania this week.

Hasbro’s Black Series lightsaber replicas have gotten progressively more screen-accurate since the production of lightsabers began. Gone are the days of manually folding in and waving open the standard all-plastic sabers you likely played with as a kid (mine was purple!). The latest collectibles are equipped with the best lighting and sound technology we’ve ever had — only time will tell how much closer to “reality” these sabers can get.

Some “real” lightsabers do technically exist as props for specific showcases. But I remember all the times I almost broke glass swinging that purple saber around as a kid. I wouldn’t trust most people with the “real” thing, not even my still clumsy adult self.

The Black Series Yoda Force FX Elite Lightsaber is up for pre-order at $249.99 and is expected to release on February 1, 2024.
