Jedi: Survivor fan-favorite character’s voice actor revealed
The breakout character of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor finally had their voice actor revealed. This character has become a social media darling, running rampant in memes and tweets since his reveal. No, we’re not talking about Cal Kestis and his new customizable hair and beard. We are talking about the one and only Turgle!
Since his reveal in the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor trailer, fans declared the little Kermitian guy the new “Glup Shitto” or a fan-favorite minor/background character in the franchise. Now, we know who voiced the guy, though some keen-eared fans were able to figure out that it was a well-known voice actor.
Who voices Turgle in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?
Turgle is voiced by Richard Horvitz, who has been in the business for decades. On his Twitter account, Horvitz shared his excitement, stating:
"“I am so proud to be a part of Star Wars canon after so many years. And I am so very touched by all the fan love for this little guy. I Am Turgle!”"
Richard Horvitz shaped many characters for kids of the ’90s and 2000s. Horvitz is the voice of Alpha 5 from the Power Rangers franchise, Daggett in the Nickelodeon show Angry Beavers, Billy in The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, and the titular character Zim in Invader Zim. Though lately, I’ve enjoyed his work in the adult indie animated series Helluva Boss that’s free on YouTube. He voices one of the main characters, Moxxie, who is fed up with his demon boss in this fantastical workplace comedy.
Turgle became an instant fan favorite with his can-do attitude and optimistic nature. He’s a unique part of Cal Kestis’ journey and vital at times in the story. The lovable little frog-man should have one of the best voice actors in the business to give him the life on screen he deserves.
