The Clone Wars introduced a large number of new characters to the Star Wars canon. Since the show lasted seven seasons, there was enough time to flesh out every character’s personality, motivations, and backstory.
Ahsoka is the most prominent of these new characters and she’s made it to live action in a big way, but there might still be some room for a few more. Here are just three of the many Clone Wars era characters that deserve to be in live-action Star Wars.
Clone Wars characters we want to see in live-action Star Wars projects
1. Hondo Ohnaka
Hondo was a pirate from the planet of Sriluur. As a child, his parents sold him into slavery. Hondo met with many Jedi during The Clone Wars, including Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano. He even held Count Dooku captive.
Hondo continued to make regular appearances even in Star Wars Rebels and went from someone who couldn’t be trusted to someone dependable, who held the Jedi in great esteem. Colorful and quite the character, he would make an excellent addition to any live-action series. Hondo was even friends with Jango Fett and expressed sadness at Boba’s loss when he found out about his father’s death. Boba has already run into Cad Bane in live-action, so now it might be Hondo’s turn. He can also run into some Jedi friends he’s familiar with as well, including Ahsoka Tano and Ezra Bridger.
2. Asajj Ventress
Asajj Ventress was once a member of the Nightsisters, belonging to Dathomir. She was sold into slavery but eventually taken in as a Padawan, but her master was killed in battle, pushing her to the dark side. Count Dooku made her his apprentice and she worked as an Assasin.
Ventress eventually came around and left her life as an assassin behind her to become a bounty hunter. She fought several powerful Jedi in The Clone Wars, including Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka. Eventually, she even helped Ahsoka when she was framed for bombing the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Ventress had a sassy personality and is one of the most complex and well-written characters in Star Wars. This is one character that should be brought into live action.
3. Duchess Satine Kryze
Satine was the ruler of Mandalore during the Clone Wars and under the reign of the Galactic Republic. She was a pacifist and believed it was time for Mandalorians to leave behind their warrior ways. Many of her own people were opposed to her policies and schemed to bring about her downfall. One of the groups she faced opposition from was the Death Watch, a group that included her own sister Bo Katan Kryze.
Satine fought to keep Mandalore neutral during the Clone Wars, as involvement would have led to more destruction and loss of lives for Mandalore. She was eventually assassinated by Darth Maul. As a character, she was elegant and regal. Satine would be a perfect character to bring to live-action.
