Andor Season 2 is currently under production and will release next year, but it may not include Felicity Jones’s Jyn Erso. Andor Season 2 will also be the final season of the series and cover several years. The last 3 episodes will be set just a few days before the events of Rogue One, and the series will end at the same point where the movie begins. This could’ve been a good opportunity to bring Jyn Erso back, but according to Felicity Jones, that’s not on the cards.

While speaking to BBC’s The One Show, Felicity was asked whether she’ll be back for Andor Season 2 and her answer put all speculation to rest. “I’m afraid to say I won’t be, but I still have hope for Jyn Erso at some point to make a comeback. But no, sadly I won’t be.” That’s a bummer for anyone who hoped to see Jyn at some point in Andor, as the narrative moves closer to the events of Rogue One, which brought Felicity Jones’s Jyn Erso together with Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor.

It’s interesting to note that Jones doesn’t deny that Jyn will be coming back at some point in the future, but denies that she’s in Andor Season 2. Actors have been tight lipped regarding possible returns to Star Wars in the past as well. Most famously, Ewan McGregor spent years denying that he’ll  be returning as Obi Wan Kenobi. Mostly, it had to do with the fact that he too had no idea that he would be making a return. But once that part was confirmed, he had to keep things under wraps until LucasFilm officially announced the Obi Wan Kenobi series back in 2019.

That means there’s still some hope that Felicity might make a brief cameo in Andor Season 2, but it’s best to put your money on it happening. Unlike the makers of Kenobi and The Mandalorian, Tony Gilroy has been quiet open about what’s to come in the series, so if Felicity Jones was coming back, maybe he would’ve shared that news himself, but so far he hasn’t said a word about it.

Rogue One and Andor are streaming now on Disney+.
