The Mandalorian Season 4 can be better than Season 3 and here’s how
The Mandalorian Season 3 is the show’s most divisive season so far. After the first two seasons of the show received both critical and audience approval and the show became a global phenomena, season 3 left a lot to be desired at times. There wasn’t much progression in Din Djarin’s own arc. He seemed to go back to his old ways starting with strict adherence to the helmet rule and ending by returning to life as a bounty hunter, more or less. Grogu’s story did progress in the sense that he became a Mandalorian foundling, started his training, received more beskar armor from The Armorer and finally, was officially adopted by Din Djarin.
The two were a part of the re-taking of Mandalore, taking it on as an adventure, similar to the side quests Din took on in Season 2 of the show, but a larger scale. At last, they settled down in domestic bliss on Nevarro.
Now that its main characters are back to square one, let’s have a look at some ways season 4 can be better than season 3:
- Focusing on Din Djarin: Everyone gets that Din is that character who has no idea that he’s in Star Wars. He seems to shy away from being the main character, but that’s exactly what he is, and many new fans have connected to the series because they’ve been able to learn about Star Wars from Din’s point of view. His life as a single dad is something many single parents have found to be relatable, and it is fun watching his understanding of the galaxy he lives in expanding, along with his heart, as he falls more in love with his tiny son. Getting to know more about Din Djarin and seeing him finding new ways to become a better person and father will make Season 4 a more fulfilling experience for Mando fans than Season 3. Keep in mind that he’s a new character, and unlike characters like Ahsoka and Bo Katan who made the jump to live action, Din has absolutely no backstory apart from the flashbacks of his parents getting killed. And hey, let’s not forget that Pedro Pascal is underneath that helmet, so a few scenes that show Pedro’s acting chops wouldn’t hurt!
- Lots of at home time with Din & Grogu: The ending of Season 3 pleased a lot of fans, even the ones who were less than satisfied with the rest of the season. Though some may have hoped that Djarin would have ended up leading the Mandalorians, everyone pretty much agrees with the fact that Din and Grogu’s bond carries the show, and seeing them getting a place to call home is very sweet. The makers should try and capitalize on this because it’s something new as far as Star Wars is concerned. We haven’t seen many characters living in an actual home, only in ships. It would be adorable to get to see Din and Grogu’s day to day lives in their little cabin on Nevarro. How about an “At home with Din & Grogu Christmas Special?”
- Lots of trips to other planets: The galaxy trotting of the first 2 seasons was delightful and gave us an opportunity to see new worlds along with Din and Grogu. They can visit new planets and even some very famous and beloved ones, like Naboo and Coruscant.
- Revisiting old friends: Din Djarin has made some good pals along the way and meeting them again would be a welcomed sight. How about he meets Boba Fett, Migs Mayfeld, Fennec Shand as well as Ahsoka and Luke? Perhaps he can meet their old friends again in order to come up with plans to defeat some new and dangerous enemies!
