Hayden Christensen and Diego Luna to feature on Variety’s Actors on Actors

Hayden Christensen and Diego Luna will feature in Variety’s Actors on Actors episode set to air on PBS, June 8th. The duo will discuss their careers and the work they’ve done recently. The annual series by Variety brings together stars of hit, potentially Emmy nominated series of the year gone by. Hayden starred as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in Obi Wan Kenobi, and Diego was the star of Andor. Both the series streamed in 2022 and garnered plenty of attention for Disney+.

A preview of the episode shows Christensen and Luna sitting across from one another, and discussing their experience in Star Wars. Christensen seems to be referring to his own character when he says “it’s a  great character” and Luna calls it “THE character”. He could be referring to both Anakin and Darth Vader, because they’re both quite literally the characters, though it’s probably the former, as he is the literal Chosen One.

In last year’s Actors on Actors, Variety paired up Ewan McGregor and Pedro Pascal for an intriguing discussion between the two on their careers so far, both as Star Wars actors and as a part projects outside of the franchise. This should be on par with that. Luna joined the Star Wars universe as Captain Cassian Andor, with the release of Rogue One in 2016, while Christensen has been a part of the Skywalker Saga since the early 2000’s, as Anakin Skywalker. While Christensen’s experience has been much longer, the two are pretty much the same age.

It will be interesting to hear what Christensen has to say about his experience in Star Wars this time around, and whether he plans on continuing acting again or returning to live a quiet life. Diego Luna is currently working on Andor Season 2, production on which has been put on hold due to the writer’s strike. Christensen may be a part of Ahsoka, which premieres in August, although nothing regarding his involvement in the series has been officially confirmed.
