At last, an Ahsoka series release date has finally been announced.

Star Wars has officially confirmed that Ahsoka premieres on August 23. A new teaser released on the official Star Wars Twitter account confirms the date and gives us another look at the brand new series, set in the timeline of The Mandalorian. The teaser gives a look at all the major characters of the upcoming Disney+ series, including Ahsoka Tano, Hera Syndulla, Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, Chopper and Grand Admiral Thrawn, among others.

Dave Filoni and Rosario Dawson confirmed that the series was set to premiere in August during Star Wars Celebration 2023 in London, however an exact date wasn’t announced until today. The new teaser once again describes Ahsoka as the “Rebel, Outcast, Jedi”, who’s on the hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn. Ahsoka calls him the “Heir to the Empire”, the title of Timothy Zahn’s novel about Thrawn, originally published in 1991. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have been in talks with Zahn about the debut of Thrawn in live action, with actor Lars Mikkelsen set to play him in live action after voicing him for Star Wars: Rebels.

This exciting new teaser also gives us a good look at Sabine Wren with a green lightsaber, probably belonging to Ezra Bridger. She faces off against Shin Hati, a new character played by Ivanna Sakhno. The late Ray Stevensen will also be a part of the series as Baylan Skoll, who’s apparently a survivor of Order 66.

The series clearly marks a brand new beginning for Ahsoka and her Rebels friends, who will come together once again to do something about a galaxy under danger due to a familiar foe in Thrawn. Ahsoka will have to face the reality of a post Order 66 world, with almost no Jedi left in the galaxy apart from her, and grapple with the loneliness it brings. There are also bound to be plenty of exciting cameos, perhaps by some of Ahsoka’s old friends such as Captain Rex and Anakin Skywalker, and even some new ones like Din Djarin,  Grogu and Luke Skywalker.

Ahsoka premiere’s August 23, exclusively on Disney+.
