Convention exclusives are nothing new to fans of Star Wars books — limited edition book releases in general are becoming more common in Star Wars publishing overall. An upcoming special release of Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade next month will continue the growing trend.
The San Diego Comic-Con exclusive release of Delilah S. Dawson’s next novel set in the Star Wars universe was announced last week, a little over a month before the book’s wide public release date.
The SDCC exclusive cover features two of the story’s main characters as Jedi and Inquisitors in breathtaking original art. Each of these editions is signed by the author and comes with a limited edition enamel pin.
Each convention exclusive edition of Rise of the Red Blade costs $50, and purchases are limited to one book and one accompanying pin per person.
The good news is, you can get the beautiful cover art digitally even if you won’t be attending the convention next month. If you haven’t yet pre-ordered your copy of the book yet, you can do so through Inkstone Books. Then, follow the instructions below to receive your digital wallpapers.
Dawson’s next Star Wars book is the story of a young Jedi who becomes a member of the infamous Inquisitorious after the shocking end of the Clone Wars. The story explores the inner workings of the sinister organization and how the former Jedi were convinced to join its ranks after Order 66.
Fans of the prequels and Obi-Wan Kenobi will love Dawson’s deep dive into the mind of a Jedi who always felt she was destined for something … different.
While the book doesn’t release for another month, you can check out an excerpt while you wait.
San Diego Comic-Con takes place from July 19-23, 2023. Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade releases to the public on July 18.
