Obi-Wan Kenobi was an absolute masterpiece of a show that premiered on Disney+ last year. Many fans were wondering when and if a second season would be happening and how long we’d have to wait for it. Many fans are beginning to wonder if a second season is even going to happen at all and trust me, some aren’t so happy that there hasn’t been much movement since last June.

Will there be a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi? Here’s what the director said!

Let’s just cut straight to the chase. The president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, has given the latest word on an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 and basically what she’s said was that there was so sort of “active development” but that something might, keyword here is might happen “down the road”.

As far as what the director of the show, Deborah Chow has said, her answer seems just a bit more final, and upon reading it, it does make me kinda sad. Upon brainstorming the idea of this show, it was originally meant to be some sort of limited series only, but just to not p*** too many people off, Chow also said “never say never”, but to me that means exactly what I’m thinking that it means: no chance really of an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2.

In the same interview Chow also expressed that there was this huge sort of time chunk that had been taken out to do the show in between Obi-Wan and A New Hope. To me, that also says that there could be tons of different opportunities for other stories to pop up within the show. Obviously speaking though, you don’t want to force things, and some pretty epic things happened within the first season that we’d absolutely hate to be taken over or outshined by an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 moment or release here.

That being said, all that we can do at this point is to hope for a second second of Obi-Wan or at least get ready for all of the new and upcoming non-Obi-Wan material coming to the universe! There are some pretty cool things coming up real soon, so stay tuned and watch out!
