A hero of the Clone Wars and later the Rebel Alliance, it was only a matter of time before Captain Rex found his way onto the ever-growing roster of Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes characters.

The game is continuously adding both Canon and Legends heroes and villains to its list of characters available to unlock, upgrade, and battle across a variety of modes. Captain Rex is the latest to arrive in the form of a timed event in the game.

“The Lost Commander” Marquee Event gives players the chance to unlock and upgrade a new version of Rex for the very first time. (Rex is available in a previous form in his Clone Wars attire and related skills/abilities as well.)

In order to unlock and begin upgrading Captain Rex, you will need:

  • Hera Syndulla
  • Ezra Bridger
  • Kanan Jarrus
  • Sabine Wren

Captain Rex will automatically be added to your five-character battle team.

It’s recommended you have these characters leveled up and upgraded as much as possible to match the advanced opponents you’ll be facing. The same goes for the second tier, except you’ll just need Cody and the Clone Sergeant. After that, you’ll need to hand over actual currency in order to get the necessary Captain Rex shards to complete the final tier of the event.

As with other marquee events, Captain Rex will eventually become available to farm for free elsewhere in the game. This typically occurs as another marquee event takes the place of the previous one.

According to Captain Rex’s kit reveal, the character is a Support class trooper that can serve Clone Trooper, Phoenix, and Rebel teams.

Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes is free to download and play on the App Store and Google Play.
