By Aidan Burns
Pedro Pascal recently sat down for an interview with Variety. Pascal talked about his success in both The Mandalorian on Disney+ and The Last of Us on MAX. During the 47-minute interview, Pascal gave praise to his Mandalorian co-star, Katee Sackoff, and her performance as Bo Katan.
“I think it was great in that it also comes into a full realization of a beloved character that is from the world of Dave Filoni.”Pascal told Variety, “She’s a badass and it’s perfect casting.”
Season three’s plot goes in many directions throughout the episodes, one way being the exploration and character arc of Bo Katan Kreese.
The season follows Bo as she fights alongside Pascal’s character, Din Jarin. Throughout the season, Bo becomes the fierce leader she’s always wanted to be. Season 3 ended with Bo taking back her homeworld of Mandalore and simultaneously uniting multiple tribes of Mandalorians after years of division and conflict. Pascal acknowledged Sackhoff’s impressive character arc during his interview with Variety.
“I just think that it was perfect that we get to meet and see the character and she gets to do cool sh*t in the second season and then take center stage in the third.” Says Pascal
Pascal also talked about his first thoughts and feelings on Katee potentially joining the second season of the Series as Bo Katan. The actor also shares that he heard early of Sackhoff’s potential recruitment from Director Dave Filoni.
“I remember Dave [Filoni] talking to me about the possibility of casting the voice actor of Bo Katan in the live-action role and I was like ‘Katy Sackhoff!? You have to do it!’” Pascal says.
Sackhoff herself spoke not too long ago on The Big Thing podcast with Kristian Harloff. The actress gave her thoughts on the character and also teased something bigger that season 3 was building.
“This season was all about setting something up for the greater good of the entire story,” says Sackhoff
There’s no current update of information on season four of The Mandalorian. However, after Sackhoff’s words, people speculate whether or not we may see Bo Katan in a cameo in an upcoming series such as Ahsoka which is set to release on August 23rd. Regardless, Sackhoff seems confident that her work in season 3 was for the greater good of future projects, and doesn’t plan to go anywhere before those projects roll out.
