A possible synopsis was revealed via Production Weekly for the new Rey stand alone Star Wars film.

Rey will be rebuilding the new Jedi Order in the next film where she will be helping defend the future of the Galaxy via Jedi training. The report states the film will take place roughly a decade and a half after the events of Rise of the Skywalker.

However, other sources dispute this as being “mostly inaccurate,” so nothing seems to be confirmed as of yet. Those same sources also state the development could be starting as early at 2024, but that depends on the current Writers strike going on in Hollywood right now. But as with always, never believe anything is set in stone with Star Wars content.

This new story will see a take on Rey as she has grown in the force and after the events with Palpatine and Kylo Ren, how will she recover from the experiences she had during this time? Other sources state that Rey Skywalker may not be the main character but rather a Luke type character from The Last Jedi in more of a support role.

While there is not much information about this movie, Disney has confirmed that Daisey Ridley will be reprising her role as Rey Skywalker in the the new film but not much information on what this could be about. The main question would be who would the main antagonist be? With Kylo Ren and Palpatine gone as well as General Krux, who will take on the role to be powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with Rey? It also seems as though the story will not be another “end of the world” scenario like we saw in The Last Jedi and The Rise of the Skywalker. This will give Rey’s character time to develop more without a major crisis to solve.

There will also seemingly be a dynamic between a Padawan/Master duo that we haven’t seen on screen since The Revenge of the Sith and the Clone Wars animated series. Wherever this movie goes, I’d like to see a new Star Wars character developed by and in particular, I’d like to see a new Bounty Hunter introduced to take the place of Boba Fett or Bossk.
