While Dave Filoni has stated that The Clone Wars and Rebels will not necessarily be required viewing for the upcoming show, there is no better way to hype yourself up for the premiere than seeing her in action as a warrior, mentor, and friend. The Siege of Lothal Arc Part 2 (Season 2, Episode 2)
These episodes were an intense start to the second season of the show. The Ghost crew has their first run-in with Darth Vader when he devises a plan to draw them back to Lothal to capture them. As they endeavor to escape Vader’s clutches, Ahsoka senses the presence of her old master in a heartbreaking and unexpected reunion.
The Future of the Force (Season 2, Episode 10)
When Ahsoka discovers the Empire is attempting to capture Force sensitive children, she teams up with Ezra, Kanan, and Zeb to reunite them with their families. The Inquisitors assigned to the task put up a fight to complete their mission, but Ahsoka’s prowess in battle is on full display when she uses her superior knowledge of the Force and lightsaber technique to overcome both Inquisitors on her own.
Shroud of Darkness (Season 2, Episode 18)
After several encounters with Inquisitors, Ahsoka, Kanan, and Ezra seek the advice of Yoda in a Jedi Temple where they can commune with him through the Force. Within the temple, each faces a different challenge. For Ahsoka, her guilt and pain around leaving Anakin and the Jedi Order haunt her, and she must confront both her past and her fear that her former master has become Darth Vader.
Twilight of the Apprentice Arc (Season 2, Episodes 21-22)
Aside from being some of the best episodes of Rebels, Ahsoka’s development is expanded quite a bit, providing more insight into the person we will see in the new show. Not only is Ahsoka is reunited with an old enemy, Darth Maul, but she is forced to oppose Vader in their first real encounter since the end of the Clone Wars. It is a truly epic duel, and the emotions of this fight are palpable.
The World Between Worlds Arc (Season 4, Episodes 12-13)
Ahsoka’s fate remained uncertain until this arc of episodes leading up to the Rebels series finale. When she is rescued by Ezra, she provides insight into the ways of the Force and supports him as he grieves a painful loss. While her role in these episodes is smaller than the others, they help unpack Ahsoka’s motivations that we will later see in the Ahsoka show.
