Actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo who plays Sabine Wren in Ahsoka confirmed in an interview that the Ahsoka series is set during the timeline of The Mandalorian Season 3. Speaking to GamesRadar, Bordizzo discussed how multiple shows are connected and building towards Dave Filoni’s Star Wars film.

Bordizzo said “Ahsoka runs along the same timeline as The Mandalorian season 3, and the shows are all connected. There’s just so many parallels.” The Mandalorian Season 3 covers the events of the retaking of Mandalore and defeat of Moff Gideon. In Season 3, Bo Katan becomes the leader of the various Mandalorian clans, and with the help of Din Djarin, Grogu, and Din’s covert, takes back her planet from the Empire.

Ahsoka was already confirmed to be set during the timeline of The Mandalorian. All the spinoffs of the hit show are set during its timeline. The Book Of Boba Fett was the first of the Mando spinoffs to have streamed on Disney+ and featured appearances by the stars of the show, Din Djarin and Grogu. The series also featured appearances by Ahsoka Tano and Luke Skywalker.

It’s yet to be revealed which characters from Mando will crossover to Ahsoka, however, there’s already one huge connection between these two shows. Grand Admiral Thrawn was mentioned towards the end of Mando’s 3rd season, and he’s all set to show up in the flesh in Ahsoka. Thrawn will be played by the same actor who voiced him in animation, Lars Mikkelsen.

Since Bordizzo has mentioned there being many parallels between the two shows, perhaps Din and Grogu will end up running into Ahsoka and her Ghost Crew friends while trying to hunt down Imperial Remnants for the New Republic.

With less than 2 months to go until the series premieres on Disney+, LucasFilm has also dropped a new promo featuring interviews of Rosario Dawson and Dave Filoni.

Ahsoka premieres August 23 on Disney+.
