Timothy Olyphant’s feelings on working on Star Wars: The Mandalorian
There is no question that two characters were very obviously missing from Star Wars: The Mandalorian season 3. While season 3 had proven to be very successful, propelling Mando Din Djarin and Grogu’s story further, while also, hopefully ending the Moff Gideon arc, it still lacked any closure from both Cobb Vanth and Boba Fett.
Both characters had appeared in The Mandalorian, with Vanth also appearing briefly in The Book of Boba Fett. But is this the last time we will see them?
First and foremost, Cobb Vanth, played by Timothy Olyphant, did state in a Rolling Stone interview his experience as a cowboy in the Star Wars universe, quoted, “I’ve enjoyed that. I don’t know if it’s a cash grab or I’m just getting lazy, but I’m OK playing the greatest hits right now.”
Olyphant, who has played countless cowboy-type characters from Deadwood to Justified, could fall into the typecast basket, however, the fact that Vanth’s ending remains a cliffhanger could mean a return in the future. As for Boba Fett, the actor is taking matters into his own hands.
What is the status of Boba Fett’s return to Star Wars?
Earlier this month Temuera Morrison revealed that he’d be stopping by Los Angeles after London Film and Comic Con, to make sure his character is not forgotten. “This is why I was gonna pop up and see what’s going on, and make sure they’re not gonna put me on a shelf.”
Currently, there remains no news on whether The Book of Boba Fett will be renewed for a second season or not. While it did wrap up beautifully, outside of the Vanth cliffhanger, it would be nice to see Fett return, even if it means appearing in The Mandalorian season 4.
What do you think? Will Cobb Vanth and Boba Fett return and if so, when?
