Billy Dee Williams is celebrating his life and career with a memoir coming next year.

The renowned Star Wars actor recently took to  Twitter to make a ground-breaking announcement that made many original trilogy fans very excited.

“Coming in February 2024, I will be sharing my life’s story—from Harlem to Star Wars and beyond—on all that has sustained and carried me through a lifetime of dreams and adventure.,” the actor wrote.

Williams had the honor of playing Lando Calrissian in everyone’s favorite films, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He also relatively recently reprised his role as Lando in the 2019 film, Rise of Skywalker.

Of course, many fans wonder what will be in store come the beginning of 2024. While many know of his role in Star Wars, Williams has portrayed a number of different characters as well including Batman (1989), Alien Intruder, Dangerous Passion, and several animated Star Wars specials as well. One thing’s for sure, Williams certainly has quite an interesting and lengthy story to tell.

Williams also shared that his book will cover his early days in Harlem. Williams has had a number of interviews throughout his hefty career, but seemingly none where he goes into detail about his early upbringing. Born in 1937, there’s no telling the challenges Williams may or may not have faced in Harlem, but his upcoming autobiography currently titled “What do we have here” (charming title) is sure to shed some light on the subject.

Many fans also ponder William’s future in the Star Wars universe. Whether it’s involvement in the upcoming Lando series or any other future projects, his possible return is anticipated by many. Being such as beloved fan favorite, one might wonder whether he will hint at his future endeavors in his new book as well.

The eye-capturing autobiography has been announced for February 2024 and is currently on presale. Many can hardly wait to crack open and read the life story of the beloved scoundrel that has positively impacted Star Wars forever.
