Rosario Dawson will be starring as Ahsoka Tano in Ahsoka which premieres this month. Prior to Rosario’s casting as the live-action Ahsoka, she was voiced by Ashley Eckstein in The Clone Wars, Rebels and Tales of the Jedi. When it came time to bring the character to live action, Dave Filoni picked Rosario and never looked back. But how many times has Rosario played Ahsoka in Star Wars?

Rosario has played live action Ahsoka twice in Star Wars. She made her debut as the character on November 27, 2020, in The Mandalorian Chapter 13, “The Jedi”. That marked the first time ever that fans got to see Ahsoka in live action. Chapter 13 is set sometime before the Rebels Season 4 Epilogue that shows Ahsoka dressed in a white robe. We don’t know exactly when, but  based on the trailer of Ahsoka, it seems the mission to find Ezra begins a few years after Chapter 13, and that sometime during or before Chapter 13, Ahsoka walked away from Sabine Wren and never completed her training.

Chapter 13 gave fans some idea of where Ahsoka was years after the fall of the Empire. She was living on a planet called Corvus. It’s a forest planet located in the Outer Rim regions of the galaxy. The capital of Corvus, Calodan was under the control of a ruthless Magistrate named Morgan Elsbeth, who will return in Ahsoka. Din Djarin was in search of Ahsoka so she could train Grogu, whose name and backstory was revealed by Ahsoka in this episode. The episode ended with her dropping a very strong hint that she was now on the hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn.

After Chapter 13, Ahsoka was seen again in The Book Of Boba Fett, Chapter 6 “From The Desert Comes a Stranger”. This episode fulfilled a long standing, seemingly impossible wish that many fans had of Ahsoka meeting Luke Skywalker. We don’t know how and when they came into contact, but Ahsoka visited Luke and watched his Jedi Academy being built. She also kept an eye on Grogu’s training with Master Luke.

After this episode, Rosario will be seen as the former Padawan of Anakin Skywalker once again in her own series. The show will answer many questions about Ahsoka’s whereabouts since the fall of the Empire, tell us where this character is headed in the future, and how she becomes the “Ahsoka the White” we saw in the Rebels finale.

Ahsoka is 8 episodes and jets off with a 2 episodes premiere on August 23 on Disney+.
