How did Kylo Ren get Darth Vader’s helmet?

There have always been many questions floating around out there as to how Kylo Ren (Ben Solo) obtains is grandfather, Darth Vader‘s, helmet.

Well, we just might officially have the answer now, thanks to a recent short story announcement straight from Star Wars themselves.

Do we finally know how Kylo Ren got Darth Vader’s helmet?

As we all know, following the Battle of Endor at the end of Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker is seen burning his father, Darth Vader’s, body in a funeral pyre on the forest moon. Of course, due to other events that happened after this, it’s clear to see that his remains were tampered with or messed around with at some point. Many people are wondering who would’ve done such a thing, and that person just might be Allegiant General Enric Pryde.

Thanks to a book of short stories that is coming out later this month, Enric Pryde will be getting his very own short story from his point of view. In celebration of Retun of the Jedi‘s 40th anniversary, this book will feature 40 different stories told by 40 different writers and other people. Pryde’s installment will be the 39th short story.

According to CinemaBlend, the story titled The Steadfast Soldier will feature Pryde’s story:

"“…reveals that Pryde arrived to see the wreckage of the main Imperial fleet and the second Death Star…”"

That being said, we know that Darth Vader’s helmet did not end up staying on Endor where his remains were. Thanks to The Steadfast Soldier, we may just find out how Pryde went over to Vader’s corpse, snatched that burning helmet, and brought it back to his grandson, Kylo Ren.

Vader’s helmet is literally one of the most valuable ‘trophies’ in the whole entire film franchise. Here’s just a little bit more from CinemaBlend:
