Star Wars Insider 220 preview: Rosario Dawson, Lydia Kang, short fiction and more
By Meg Dowell
Every new issue of Star Wars Insider brings with it the promise of one-of-a-kind interviews, stories, and insights fans won’t find anywhere else — and August 2023’s installment is no exception.
The official Star Wars magazine has been around since 1994 (before Titan Magazine oversaw its publication starting in 2007), and has published hundreds of issues celebrating a galaxy far, far away, its official creators, and the fans who keep the franchise thriving. There is no better place to get your Star Wars fix than Insider.
What can readers expect from Star Wars Insider #220, on sale next week? A handful of interviews plus the start of a brand-new series of short fiction by an author you might already be familiar with.
Since the Ahsoka series is the hot topic among Star Wars fans this month, an interview with live-action Ahsoka Tano herself Rosario Dawson is front-and-center in this month’s issue. Additional exclusive interviews include talks with Lydia Kang (Star Wars: The High Republic), Star Wars comics legend Walt Simonson, and the incredible team responsible for making The Bad Batch happen.
A new short story by Alexander Freed, “Shock Wave,” will also appear in this month’s issue as the first in a short fiction trilogy set around the events of Return of the Jedi. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the film, also celebrated in the upcoming short story anthology From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi, on sale August 29.
With a handful of exclusive interviews and everything you’ll need to know before Ahsoka premieres on Disney+ later this month, this issue of Star Wars Insider is definitely one you won’t want to miss.
Star Wars Insider #220 goes on sale August 15.
