Look out, Captain R-3X! A new character is coming to board your vessel!

Announced at Destination D23 by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairperson Josh D’Amaro, Ahsoka Tano will be coming to the attraction Star Tours – The Adventure Continues starting in Spring 2024. Her arrival will be global, not just restricted to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, except for Tokyo Disneyland, as it doesn’t have the attraction.

This announcement was on the heels of many exciting new additions to the Disney parks. Hera Syndulla and Chopper recently arrived at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge joining the cast there. They joined Ahsoka, who arrived back in August to promote her series.

Disney Parks announced that new worlds were coming to the non-canon ride earlier this year. Currently, fans can join the shuttle piloted by C-3PO and R2-D2 as they are sent on a mission by Wedge Antilles and visit planets from the Original, Prequel, and Sequel Trilogies. With the addition of Ahsoka, perhaps the ride is set to bring in some of the worlds from the live-action series. There is also the exciting reveal of the World Between Worlds in Ahsoka Episode 4, “Fallen Jedi.” Being a non-canon ride, maybe Star Tours will get even weirder and slide out of the realm of time and space. Another point we’ll have to wait and see is how much Rosario Dawson was involved and whether or not they will use her likeness in the ride. We’ll have to wait until Spring of 2024 to find out.

The original Star Tours was piloted by Captain R-3X, voiced by the late Paul Reubens. It closed in 2010 to later be revamped into what it is now in 2011. With the arrival of new characters, it’s exciting to see where Star Tours goes next.
