The world of Star Wars comics is vast and ever-expanding. It seems like every new series brings something new to the larger Star Wars universe — even in instances where the characters, setting, and themes are familiar to readers.
This winter, the world of Star Wars Visions and one of its main players returns in comic form. Star Wars: Visions – Takashi Okazaki — by writer and artist Takashi Okazaki — will shed new light on both the origins of The Ronin and the infamous Sith.
According to StarWars.com, the first issue of the upcoming comic is part of an ongoing series from Marvel that “invites comics creators to put their own spin on the galaxy far, far away in the spirit of Lucasfilm’s animated anthology of the same name.” The series is set to kick off this November with Star Wars: Visions – Peach Momoko #1.
“The Ronin” wasn’t just the main character in “The Duel,” the first episode of Visions Volume 1. The character was also the main subject of the 2021 novel Ronin by Emma Mieko Candon. The book starts off as an adaption of “The Duel,” but continues on after that story’s conclusion to capture more of The Ronin’s journey.
The Star Wars Visions series on Disney+ has been a major award-winning success so far, and its second volume (season) of episodes premiered earlier this year. The fact that its stories are expanding beyond the screen is just as magical as the series itself, and chances are, this will continue for quite some time. These comics are just the beginning.
Star Wars: Visions – Takashi Okazaki #1 releases in January 2024, and will be available for pre-order soon wherever you get your Star Wars comics.
