Actor Cameron Monaghan, who performs the role of Cal Kestis in the Star Wars Jedi series, has seemingly confirmed that a third game in the series is now in development.

The actor was delivering a talk during a panel for the Star Wars Jedi series at this year’s Ocala Comic Con, and he was quoted as saying the following:

"“We’re working on the third. We’re in the process of doing it right now. That’s a big undertaking and there have been some conversations so far. Hopefully, when all things are said and done we’ll be able to go in and make something really cool for you guys again.”"

Monaghan performs the motion capture for Cal Kestis in the games, in addition to providing the character’s voice. His speech was delivered on September 16, and you can view it for yourself on YouTube.

The fact that a third game in the Star Wars Jedi series is now in development hardly comes as a surprise because Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor both proved to be hugely successful from critical and financial standpoints. And this is hardly the first time we have been discreetly notified of a possible third entry because Stig Asmussen, who directed the first two games before leaving developer Respawn Entertainment, recently told IGN that he also viewed Cal’s story as a trilogy.

It remains unclear when publisher Electronic Arts will officially announce the third entry in the Star Wars Jedi series, but it now seems almost certain that it will be unveiled at some point in the near future. For now, Monaghan’s statement will certainly be enough to leave fans reeling with anticipation.
