It may seem hard to believe, but Star Wars Rebels will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next year. That’s right, the beloved animated series that first started airing on Disney XD in 2014 has now been with us for almost an entire decade. Needless to say, fans who watched Rebels when it was originally broadcast will probably start to feel old.
To commemorate the show’s tenth anniversary, Marvel will release a series of new variant covers showcasing Rebels characters. The covers will be for the ongoing Star Wars and Darth Vader comics, which will be released from January to April 2024, and they all look incredible. Illustrator Caspar Wijngaard clearly did a fantastic job of bringing the popular Rebels characters to life, and fans will certainly want to get their hands on his incredible covers.
Several of the characters who are featured on the covers include Ezra Bridger, Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus, Sabine Wren, Zeb, Chopper, Ahsoka Tano, and Grand Admiral Thrawn. There will be a grand total of eight Rebels-themed covers for fans to collect, which means that your wallets will probably start to feel lighter after these issues arrive in your local comic book stores.
Star Wars Rebels was created by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Carrie Beck, and it was praised by fans and critics alike. Running for seventy-five episodes, the show introduced viewers to a small group of freedom fighters who defended the innocent against the Galactic Empire’s totalitarian regime. Many of the characters initially introduced in Rebels are now making their live-action debuts in episodes of Ahsoka.
If you are one of the few Star Wars fans who have yet to experience the sheer greatness that Rebels has to offer, you will be pleased to learn that all four seasons are currently streaming on Disney+. You can also purchase each season on Blu-ray, if you happen to be one of the few people who still purchases physical media. Either way, Star Wars Rebels is a great show that fans simply cannot afford to miss.
