Round one of Ahsoka vs Baylon ended with Ahsoka falling into the ocean, a crushing defeat for the titular hero. Now that she has made it past the trials of the World Between Worlds, she arrives to this fight prepared to face Baylon once again. This exciting conflict is filled with great choreography and the development of the intense relationship that the two characters have forged through their battles. This time, Ahsoka comes out on top using a cunning plan that allows her to escape and make her way to her true destination, Sabine.

Fans of Star Wars Rebels are very familiar with the cunning ways of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Using his unmatched skills of deduction, Thrawn can learn the ways of his enemies and use their own strategies against them. Now, Ahsoka has gotten her first taste of Thrawn’s devious plans, flying straight into a minefield set up to reveal her arrival on Peridea. Thrawn’s familiarity with Ahsoka’s old master could prove dangerous for her and her friends as they work to escape from the tactical genius and this forgotten planet.

Hera isn’t afraid to play by her own rules, but her rebellious spirit finally got her into trouble after bringing a fleet to help Ahsoka and Sabine. When hope appears to be lost, C3P0 unexpectedly arrives at her hearing to save the day. Under the direction of Senator Leia Organa herself, Threepio delivers a message that gives legitimacy to Hera’s mission, rescuing her from a court-martial. Leia’s support, especially as leader of the Defense Council, will allow Hera to continue doing what is right, even if it goes against the grain of the New Republic regulations.

2. Anakin’s training videos

Hayden Christensen returned as Anakin Skywalker in an unexpected cameo at the start of the episode, wearing his Clone Wars uniform. Ahsoka reveals that back when she was still his padawan, Anakin filmed a collection of videos to support her lightsaber training. In the messages, he shows how deeply he cares for Ahsoka, ensuring she is prepared to take on the dangers of the war and beyond. This scene was remarkable for the strength of the emotions and the bond that both actors portrayed so well. Now that Ahsoka has grown from her last encounter with Anakin, she appears at peace with her relationship with her former master.

1. Ahsoka and Ezra reunite

The single greatest moment for me from this episode was the moment when Ahsoka and Anakin were finally reunited. The last time they saw one another, Ezra saved Ahsoka by pulling her into the World Between Worlds. When they were separated, Ahsoka promised that she would find him again. Now, that promise has finally been fulfilled and two great friends have found their way to each other. Their hug and joyous laughter matched the catharsis I felt as a fan at seeing them together. Ahsoka was once a mentor for Ezra, but they were separated by the circumstances of the war and then by Ezra’s sacrifice. Now that they are finally together again, they have the chance to rekindle that bond and teach each other all they have learned in their separation.

The Ahsoka season one finale will release on Tuesday, October 3rd on Disney Plus.
