Ahsoka may be setting the stage for a Season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ahsoka has proven that if done well,  live-action scenes from The Clone Wars can be a game changer. Fans are completely elated by the live-action Clone Wars flashbacks, and scenes of Anakin as General Skywalker, in his Clone Wars armor. With that being said, this sets up possible storylines that Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 can explore if it takes fans back to The Clone Wars era with Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor reprising their roles as General Anakin Skywalker and General Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Season 1 of Kenobi promised and delivered the  “re-match of the century” between friends turned enemies, Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. It’s an episode that’s very well received, and pays homage to the Star Wars Rebels animated duel between Ahsoka Tano and Darth Vader, when Vader’s mask is slashed in half by his apprentice and in Kenobi, by his Master, revealing half his face. We can only imagine how hyped fans would be if Season 2 of Kenobi shows Obi-Wan reminiscing over his Clone Wars days, alongside Anakin, who was more a friend and brother to him in The Clone Wars than at any previous time in their lives. This is entirely possible since various source material that covers Obi-Wan’s life prior to A New Hope, tells us that Obi-Wan had a habit of writing in his journal, and recounting his memories as a Jedi. He also wrote about Anakin, and the many clones he fought alongside, and left his journal for Luke to read.

Another way Ahsoka can lead into Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 is if Ahsoka and Obi-Wan reunite with each other during the show. It’s never confirmed in canon whether Ahsoka knows that Obi-Wan Kenobi is alive, but that should change in Season 2. After all,  Ahsoka, Anakin and Obi-Wan are the most famous trio from The Clone Wars series, and a reunion between Obi-Wan and Ahsoka is a nice way to acknowledge that. Young Ahsoka Ariana Greenblatt) can also play a role in any Clone Wars flashbacks of Anakin and Obi-Wan.

Season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi can serve as a great opportunity to bring another important The Clone Wars character to live-action . Duchess Satine Kryze, the love of Obi-Wan’s life, can finally come to live action and give Ewan McGregor the chance to play a head over heels in love Obi-Wan. Though their story ends tragically, Satine and Obi-Wan are a great example of selfless love in Star Wars as they loved each other for years but chose not to be together.

For now, Season 2 of Kenobi isn’t in development, but after the success of Ahsoka, especially given how well Dave Filoni utilized Hayden Christensen, and brought The Clone Wars to live action, this might be a good time for LucasFilm to think about it. A good place to start is by giving fans what they want; plenty of flashbacks flashbacks of Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor together during The Clone Wars era.

Ahsoka is streaming on Disney+.
