Star Wars Insider #222 preview: High Republic fiction, Kevin Kiner, and more

Star Wars Insider #222 is set to release this Tuesday, October 31. Here is a preview of what you can expect to find in the latest issue of the official Star Wars magazine.

In the lead-up to Phase III of The High Republic Lucasfilm Publishing initiative, the first in author Lydia Kang’s exclusive short fiction stories will be included in this upcoming Star Wars Insider issue. “The Big Deal” will be illustrated by Star Wars concept artist Jake Lunt Davies. Another exclusive short story, “Valnir & Laizhu” by Richard Dinnick and set during the Original Trilogy, will also appear.

If you’re looking for a behind-the-scenes perspective on the making of Star Wars: Ahsoka‘s breathtaking score, you’re in luck. This issue also includes an interview with composer Kevin Kiner and Sean and Deana Kiner.

The second part of Star Wars Insider‘s exclusive interview with Industrial Light & Magic’s Dennis Muren and Ken Ralsto also appears in this issue, looking at the various pieces of Star Wars media that touch on the state of the galaxy following the Battle of Endor.

Also interviewed as part of this Star Wars Insider issue: Puppeteer Tim Rose, who brought to life the characters of Admiral Ackbar, Sy Snootles, and the Rancor in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
