Grab your lightsaber, Minecraft fans, because the latest DLC Minecraft Star Wars: Path of the Jedi is now available. Originally announced back on October 15 during the Minecraft Live event, this is a story-driven DLC allowing players to go on their own Jedi adventure. It does require the latest version of the game, Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, to play. Also, players can get a free R2-D2 shirt in the game’s dressing room through December 7.

The trailer for Minecraft Star Wars: Path of the Jedi DLC showcases the player, who starts as a Padawan heading out on an adventure. Part of the customizations include building your own droid and lightsaber while taking on missions. The trailer showcases characters from the Prequel Trilogy and The Clone Wars, like Yoda, Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano. In time, the player will overcome adversity and become a Jedi Knight. Familiar locations from the Star Wars franchise are also featured like Kamino and Coruscant. My favorite is the opening shots on Ilum, the location where Jedi Younglings receive their kyber crystal to build their lightsaber.

The first-look images shared with StarWars.com also share the hurdles and villains players will face along the way. A fearsome Acklay roars towards the sky to prepare for battle. A flurry of B1 Battle Droids charge the play in a rainy brawl. General Grievous’ lightsabers spark on the floor as his IG-100 MagnaGuards look on. Finally, the player duels one on one with Darth Maul, the screen drenched in red hues for the intense battle.

A new trailer revealed on Twitter gives a few new reveals like Professor Huyang from Ahsoka. The multiplayer options look fun and engaging. But the best reveal is another new villain to battle: Count Dooku. The Sith Lord is spotted shooting Force lightning at the hero.

The DLC looks fantastic as these characters and locations are recreated in Minecraft’s whimsical style. Minecraft Star Wars: Path of the Jedi is now available to purchase. You can watch the trailer for the game below.
