As The Bad Batch prepares for its final season, the last touches are being completed for the animated series. Showrunner and producer Jennifer Corbett recently shared an update on her Twitter account about how things were going.

Corbett shared a picture of David W. Collins and his team. Collins is a sound designer at Skywalker Sound and the supervising sound editor for The Bad Batch. In the tweet, she said:

"“Toasting to the final mix session for The Bad Batch. What a pleasure to watch David W. Collins and team in action! Can’t wait for you all to see what’s in store for the final season!”"

This is a significant update. The final mix for audio is one of the last steps in the animation process, which means that The Bad Batch is probably on the horizon. Season 2 had a January 2023 release, so that could mean that Season 3 could possibly be early 2024. However, because of the SAG-AFTRA strikes after AMPTP studios like Disney dragged their feet instead of negotiating with their workers, there could be a delay to help spread out content throughout 2024 to fill in the live-action gaps. We’ll have to see.

Noshir Dalal Gets in on the Fun

One fun interaction was in response to Corbett’s tweet. Noshir Dalal, who voiced Admiral Rampart in the series, responded to Corbett’s tweet, stating:

"“I just need to know that someone takes out Chuchi on my behalf. I think that’s perfectly reasonable.”"

Corbett responded with a gif of Mindy Kaling’s character from The Office, saying, “I have a lot of questions. Number one, how dare you?”

This joke is about Season 2 in The Bad Batch, when Senator Riyo Chuchi made her return from The Clone Wars and was vital to the downfall of Rampart. It’s a fun exchange between the cast and the creators.

It’s exciting that The Bad Batch‘s third and final season is in the last stages of production. Is it too much to wish for a holiday present of a Season 3 trailer? We’ll just have to wait and see.
