Unwrapping the Star Wars LEGO Advent Calendar: Day 2

Day 2 of the 2023 Star Wars LEGO Advent Calendar sees the arrival of Cad Bane’s starship, the Justifier. This was the vessel he used to capture Omega in the episode “Bounty Lost” from season one of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

At least we now know what sent Omega dashing through the snow in yesterday’s build—the threat of being recaptured by the infamous bounty hunter and confined once again to the Justifier’s brig.

I’ve been impressed in the past with how LEGO has been able to depict complex starships in miniature using just a handful of pieces. Last year’s B-Wing and Republic Gunship builds come to mind.

This ship is okay. The main feature—and arguably the most identifiable one—is the adjustable rear thruster pillar, which reorients itself based on whether the ship is on the ground or in the air. Beyond that, this ship build is pretty flat, not as angular as the Justifier appears in the show.

But, again, with only a handful of pieces to play with, this is a great mini version of an otherwise very large (and expensive!) LEGO build. We’ll see what tomorrow brings…
