Hayden Christensen has signed with Independent Artist Group for representation, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actor, who made a return to Star Wars last year as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader, in Obi-Wan Kenobi, reprised both roles again this year in Ahsoka. IAG also represents other big names including Regina Hall, John Cusack, Terrance Howards, and Donnie Yen.
Hayden’s performances in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka have been met with a lot of appreciation, and fans would love to see much more of him in Star Wars. However, that’s not all, many fans want Hayden to make a return to Hollywood and take on other projects outside the Star Wars franchise. His signing with Independent Artist Group might signal that he’s thinking of taking on more work, and we might get to see much more of him in the future.
Hayden’s past work includes Shattered Glass, Life as a House, Jumper, and The Virgin Suicides. He received multiple nominations for his performance in Life as a House, including a Golden Globe Nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Although the criticism of the prequel trilogy and Hayden’s performance probably damaged his career following the release of the films, his triumphant return to the franchise this time around could end up doing the very opposite for his career.
Hayden won the Saturn Award for Best Guest Performance in a Streaming Series for Obi-Wan Kenobi last year. His work in Ahsoka is much meatier and he deserves a nomination or two for his performance as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in Ahsoka Episode 5, “Shadow Warrior”. In fact, “Shadow Warrior” is the highest-rated episode of Ahsoka on IMDb.com. A return to acting now that Hayden is much older may be a result of him feeling energized after the love and appreciation he’s received from Star Wars fans this time. If that’s the case, it’s wonderful that an actor who got so much hate from the fandom has received just as much, if not more love this time around.
Going forward, hopefully, Hayden’s going to be seen in many films and television series. He’s always been a wonderful actor with a great screen presence, and maybe this is finally his time to shine in Hollywood. Hayden deserves the very best, and we wish him the best of luck for all his upcoming projects.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka are streaming on Disney+.
