FanSided’s Fandoms of the Year 2023 are here — and Star Wars got a lot of love this year. From TV shows to actors to an entire era of movies, books, and more, the fans came through in recognizing what they loved most about a galaxy far, far away in 2023.

Here are the Star Wars things the fans loved most in the last year.

Ahsoka more than earned its place in our Fandoms of the Year 2023 lineup. The Dave Filoni-run Disney+ series saw the return of fan-favorite Star Wars Rebels characters and allowed Rosario Dawson time and space to make the character of Ahsoka Tano her own. The show also brought back a Star Wars actor who became a Fandom of the Year 2023 pick all his own.

Hayden Christensen may be best known as Anakin Skywalker from the prequel trilogy, but he has returned to Star Wars multiple times in the past few years, earning him a pot on this list. In 2023, he met Ahsoka in the World Between Worlds to — spiritually, physically, both, it’s still unclear — bring her back to life.

Pedro Pascal has had quite a year, though Star Wars fans know him best as the voice (and sometimes the face and body of) Din Djarin, a.k.a. The Mandalorian from — you guessed it — The Mandalorian. It’s unclear when we’ll see him in Star Wars again, so we might as well celebrate him while we can!

Star Wars Prequels were a hyperspecific nod to the franchise, but this is likely due to a number of relevant factors. The prequels have been getting a lot of love this year, from Star Wars books such as Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade to Christensen’s previously mentioned return in the Ahsoka series. Whether you rewatched the prequels on Disney+ in 2023, read stories set in the era, or found other ways to celebrate them, your love paid off.

Whether Star Wars is your only fandom or you celebrate a variety of franchises, teams, and celebrities, FanSided’s Fandoms of the Year 2023 include a little something for everyone to celebrate.
