Fans of audiobooks are in for a real treat, as publisher Random House will soon be releasing unabridged audiobook editions of the classic Star Wars Legends novels Survivor’s Quest and Outbound Flight, which were both written by Timothy Zahn. Both of these novels served as part of the origin story for Grand Admiral Thrawn. These audiobooks will be released on December 19.

As reported by ComicBook.com, these audiobooks will form part of the Star Wars: The Essential Legends Collection line and this will be the first time that either of the novels has been available as completely unabridged audiobooks. Needless to say, Star Wars fans will certainly want to add these to their collections. Both of the audiobooks will be narrated by Marc Thompson, who has been narrating Star Wars novels since 2007, including the latest Thrawn trilogies. So, his voice will undoubtedly sound familiar to fans.

Survivor’s Quest focused on Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade discovering the wreckage of the ship known as the Outbound Flight, whose crew had initially embarked on a mission to explore the Unknown Regions. The novel was originally published in 2004, and it became popular amongst Star Wars fans, who wanted to know more about the journey of the Outbound Flight. As a result, a prequel novel titled Outbound Flight was released in 2006, which chronicled the titular ship’s ill-fated maiden voyage. Grand Admiral Thrawn also played a key role in Outbound Flight. Since Thrawn is now more popular than ever thanks to his live-action debut in Ahsoka, the audiobook edition of the novel will probably fly off shelves.

If you are itching to get your hands on these audiobooks, they will both be available on December 19. To ensure that your copies arrive as soon as possible, you can pre-order them from the official Random House website.
