I can’t believe I have to write this article, but it’s a story I cannot ignore. When I saw this cross my Twitter timeline, it made me so sick to my stomach. While this situation turned out fine, it could have been incredibly dangerous. So, what am I talking about?

A fan went to Hayden Christensen’s home.

This fan supposedly drove an hour to L.A. with his friend to try and find Hayden’s house, which is perfectly NORMAL behavior (read that with sarcasm). The fan then knocks on the door, writes a message on his phone, and holds it up to the window for the actor to read when Hayden checks who is at his house. Hayden is gracious enough to take pictures and sign a few things, but honestly, as one Twitter user pointed out, I would have pressed charges.

This is incredibly gross and invasive behavior, and it should not be encouraged. While Hayden is an actor and a public figure, at the end of the day, he is just doing a job. Imagine this happening in your home when it comes to your job. I used to work retail, and I adored my regulars! However, at no point would I ever want them to show up at my house, holding up notes through my window and asking for pictures. I would be calling the police over this unhinged and entitled behavior.

Hayden is just now starting to come back to Star Wars and getting back into acting. He only recently signed with a representation group for future work. Behavior like this from fans could possibly make him fearful for future fan interactions. Also, if these weren’t fans but instead people who intended him harm, this could have ended up as a tragedy.

Let’s also muse for a second the chance this is made up. Presenting this as a real story is still harmful. It could encourage others who do not realize it’s fake to think this is okay. It might influence younger fans to try this out. Even a fake story presented as real can do damage.

It reminds me so much of the situation with Jacksfilm and SSSniperwolf. While these fans didn’t dox Hayden’s address, you don’t just show up to famous people’s houses and ask for pictures. This is not normal, and I’m happy people are calling this out on the dude’s Instagram account.

Star Wars fans, do not do this. Do not encourage others to do it. Leave the famous people alone in the privacy of their own homes.
