You definitely didn’t imagine that connection between Sabine Wren and Shin Hati in the Ahsoka series earlier this year. Actors Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Wren) and Ivanna Sakhno (Hati) formed an unbreakable bond on set that brought their characters’ connection to life on-screen.

“We got to know one another through working in the training facility  …The experience of working with [Natasha] was just fun. There was a lot of laughter on set, definitely, and inside jokes,” Sakhno said, according to StarWars.com.

“I loved working with Ivanna so much,” Bordizzo added. “We really went through the whole journey from start to finish together.”

Both actors walked on set for the first time as complete newcomers to the franchise, and were able to bond over this part of their shared experience.

While it is unclear at this time whether or not there will be another season of the Ahsoka series itself, there is absolutely no doubt we will see these characters again in other Disney+ Star Wars shows. Many of these shows have been designed to fit together in one smaller “universe” within the larger Star Wars franchise — some fans like to call it the Mandoverse. There will be plenty of opportunities for Sabine and Shin to appear and cross paths again — and the actors who play them will likely get to work together again too.

With so many show releases pushed back due to the strikes from this year, we don’t know when we’re going to see the next Star Wars show. But one thing is clear: If actors are having this much fun making these shows, we’re going to have an even better time watching them.

All episodes of Star Wars: Ahsoka are available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
