This week brings great news for anyone who has been begging for more physical Star Wars media in the chaotic age of streaming. You can now buy episodes of The Mandalorian TV series that you will, presumably, own forever.

Both Seasons 1 and 2 of the Star Wars Disney+ series are now available in both 4K Ultra HD Steelbook and Blu-ray Steelbook. That’s right — you can now own The Mandalorian on actual disks you can hold. And there are bonus features! What a time to be alive.

A Steelbook case is, of course, the physical media collector’s latest craze — a box that’s much less likely to get damaged when shelved, moved, or otherwise displayed. The fact that these releases come with actual disks is a big seller, personally.

What a great way to celebrate the legacy that The Mandalorian is already leaving. This is the show that kicked off a new era of Star Wars storytelling in the form of TV shows — Disney+ launched with this series as its headliner, and three seasons in, many things about modern Star Wars stories have already changed for the better. (I’m not just talking about bringing Bo-Katan Kryze into live-action and then making her a main character, but I’m also not not talking about that.)

Every Star Wars movie exists on my entertainment unit shelves in some form of physical media (even a few VHS tape box sets). It will be nice to add Mando and crew to the collection, even if I’m probably just going to still use Disney+ to rewatch those episodes anyway. I suppose you never know — tomorrow, it could all be gone.

All episodes of Star Wars: The Mandalorian Seasons 1-3 are also available to stream on Disney+.
