Star Wars fans aren’t the only ones in awe of the so-called Filoniverse.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly about his contribution to the Ahsoka series, actor Hayden Christensen praised producer, writer and director Dave Filoni for his deep understanding of Anakin as a character and making his presence in the show meaningful at many angles.

"“To get to work with Dave Filoni and follow his lead was just a real privilege. He knows this character so well and just the way he had conceived of incorporating him into this story I thought was just so smart and just a very sort of compelling take on the character and it was all just really, really thrilling.”"

Christensen first dove into the Star Wars franchise as Anakin Skywalker in 2002’s Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and seamlessly transitioned into the role of the iconic Darth Vader by the end of 2005’s Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

The actor brilliantly made his grand return to Star Wars in 2022 — two decades after his first appearance as Anakin — in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. He played both Vader and Skywalker in those episodes, and it was only fitting that he return as the character again to help Ahsoka on her journey in the 2023 Disney+ series of the same name.

In these most recent episodes, Christensen plays a much different version of the character than we’ve previously seen. Now one with the Force (a Force Ghost, if you will), he appears to Ahsoka in the World Between Worlds to essentially guide her back to the Living Force.

It was a beautiful way to contribute to the larger story of Starr Wars, and there’s no doubt Christensen will be back to portray the character that has become so meaningful to so many fans over the years.

All episodes of Star Wars: Ahsoka are available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
