Unwrapping the Star Wars LEGO Advent Calendar: Day 19
By Eric Clayton
Are you tired of pesky Rebels always blowing up your fully operational battle stations? Have you invested an entire Empire’s worth of personnel, resources, hokey religious traditions, and ancient weaponry into building a new one? Are you concerned that a legion of killer teddy bears might try to overrun your ground troops and distract from the trap you’ve been setting for years?
Confronting fear may be the destiny of a Jedi, but in case that’s not your thing, lean into your fears and pick up a brand new SLD-26 planetary shield generator! Keep those Rebels at bay, mow down those teddy bears, and protect your Imperial investments. Best when used on a forested moon within laser shot of your definitely-not-a-moon battle station. Zero satisfaction guaranteed since we know some hotshot Rebel pilot will still manage to thwart all of your evil plans.
Anyway. Day 19 of the 2023 Star Wars LEGO Advent Calendar gives a wee bit of protection to the second Death Star in the form of the planetary shield generator. In theory, this piece of equipment, built by CoMar Combat Systems, could protect space stations like the Death Star for as long as needed by way of an energy shield.
Now, of course, if that shield generator is blown up by a band of Rebels and their Ewok friends, all bets are off.
It’s a nice simple build, towering above that tiny, tiny Endor bunker from a few days ago. It comes with a forest-colored base and some—I want to say—shrubs that can be used to kinda sorta conceal it. As you might have guessed, this Imperial gem first appeared in Star Wars: Episode VI—Return of the Jedi and was pivotal to the Battle of Endor.
We’re really getting down the home stretch now… What more do we need to complete the final scenes of Episode VI?
