As Skeleton Crew is starting its streaming run and Andor is preparing for a release in April, the next live-action series set in a galaxy far, far away is getting ready to begin filming. The second season of Ahsoka is preparing to start production. This season, though, will be overseas in the UK. According to Indiewire, they are moving from Los Angeles to the United Kingdom. The series will begin filming in April 2025. That is a tentative date and may change.

Ahsoka joins the Star Wars projects to film in the United Kingdom

Ahsoka premiered in the summer of 2023. The first season was filmed in Los Angeles. It joined Skeleton CrewThe Mandalorian, and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars series filmed in the LA landscape. It would not be the first time that Lucasfilm has shot projects in the UK. George Lucas had a history of filming outside of the United States. In addition to filming in Africa for A New Hope, many other locations were filmed in Europe.

Some other Star Wars shows that were filmed in the UK were The Acolyte and the first season of Andor. Both did not use the technology of The Volume of location filming in Los Angeles, which was popularized during the first of The Mandalorian.

Some of The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker all filmed in the United Kingdom at Pinewood Studios. Andor was also filmed partly at Pinewood. The location adds more of a realistic setting to the projects.

Ahoska should be set to be released sometime in 2026. It will mark a banner year for the franchise, as the next film, The Mandalorian and Grogu is also set to be released during the same year.

Regardless of location, the series is being met with much anticipation. The first season was extremely popular with audiences, and the second season should be met with as much popularity and anticipation as the first.

Rosario Dawson, who plays Ahsoka Tano, and company will be met with much anticipation as filming in the UK gets underway.
